We are always willing to travel for our clients! Our photography team had the wonderful opportunity to go to Ann Arbor, Michigan to our client, Trucent, home offices. You may remember them for our previous client spotlight where we visited to their Van Wert, OH facility.
At Trucent, they believe in maximizing resource use and profitability in a way that also benefits the Earth and improving the quality of business operations. Their main goal is to develop and provide reliable fluid separation technologies, services, and chemistry, while continuously innovating to find new solutions to their client’s challenges.

Their story began in 1997 when they discovered a better way to reclaim the oils and metalworking fluids used in automotive manufacturing. And they wondered why should we continuously dump thousands of hazardous fluid gallons each day when those fluids could purify as contaminants creep in and keep them running at their intended performance level indefinitely? As Trucent continued to learn and grow as an organization, they found that many different manufacturing processes were suffering from inefficiencies caused by unwanted liquid or solid contamination. To help fix these issues they developed solutions for industries from automotive and heavy equipment manufacturers to solar glass fabrication and aerospace.
Trucent applied their technology, service capabilities, and expertise to coproduct development. They entered the biofuels industry by helping dry-grind corn ethanol producers realize the value of distillers corn oil. What was once a byproduct of their process, going to the back door in live-stock feed, was now the crux that would help plants weather the financial volatility that comes with producing renewable fuels. As they grow and expand into new industries, their mission stays the same, to provide reliable fluid separation technologies, services, and chemistry to their customers. Trucent envisions a world where environmental sustainability and successful business operations are one and the same.

Our team scouted the Ann Arbor location. Due to the complexity of the project, the scout visit helped prepare our production schedule for the three day shoot. The shoot was separated into multiple facets. First, we had to capture large product images, and several were up to two stories tall! Secondly, we captured images focusing on their research and development. The challenging part was what they do is proprietary, so utilizing focus and lighting was key for this. Lastly, we photographed their refurbishing and manufacturing process. Overall, shooting in industrial and laboratory environments is always a fulfilling process especially at this scale!
