Partnering with a marketing firm can be a game-changer for any project, whether you’re launching a new product, rebranding, scaling your outreach or like in this case, moving locations. Recently, we had the opportunity to collaborate with repeat client M.M. Management, as they offered valuable insights, creative breakthroughs, and a fresh perspective to the goals of our new client, Reel Pipe. Let’s take a look behind the scenes of that collaboration—what worked, what we learned, and how the right marketing partner can elevate your vision.

Reel Pipe, located in downtown Indianapolis, has been an area staple for four generations. Providing the highest quality pipes, valves and fittings, the family owned company has been in business since 1939. Megan from the Reel Pipe team contacted us once plans were made to move the operation to a new building, the first time in almost 100 years! Not only was it time to move locations, but it was time to update the site imagery so the Reel Pipe brand could be represented with future goals in mind.

Photography in an industrial setting comes with a unique set of challenges that go far beyond traditional studio shoots. Unlike controlled environments, industrial locations often involve tight spaces, harsh lighting, dust, noise, and active machinery—all of which can make capturing clean, compelling images a real test of skill and preparation. Safety is another key concern; navigating around equipment and coordinating with on-site teams requires careful planning and clear communication. Don’t worry, we carry a lot of insurance for this reason! Additionally, making heavy-duty equipment or utilitarian components look visually appealing while accurately representing their function adds a creative layer of complexity. Balancing aesthetics with authenticity in such a rugged environment demands both technical expertise and a deep understanding of the product’s role within its industrial context.

As a fellow generational business owner, Lesle has been exposed to these types of setting since she was a young child. Listening to the rules and safety protocols the operations staff have in place is of the utmost importance and not only ensures the safety of all team members on both sides, but ultimately helps get the best shot in the end.

This was such a fun project that had us surrounded by great people from start to finish. We can’t wait for the next one!
