Anytime you shoot underground it’s a special day! This project included both surface mining shots and images down inside the mine. We quickly learned that the most efficient way to light in such a dark environment was not our photography gear, but the mining equipment itself! We positioned our lights and the mining lights on the equipment to not only bring up the overall illumination, but to bring out the textures in the cave walls.
