The challenging part of this project was scheduling to accommodate the centers varied activities. This community center supports children in the summers and after school; we wanted to show children in the space, but also show from the outside how it looks nothing like a traditional community center. Now it’s a landmark in the inner city of Indianapolis and it’s a place and program kids look forward to being a part of. The architects were able to add on to the existing building while making the preexisting structure and the building addition look refreshed and modern. It was great to see how our clients are giving back to our amazing city.
