At Studio Thirteen, we strive to meet our clients’ needs and welcome opportunities to travel beyond Indianapolis when a project calls for it. So when our new client, Dexter, approached us to build their e-commerce photography portfolio, we were ready to hop on a plane to Albion, Texas.
Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, Dexter is a premier supplier of axles, suspension systems, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts and accessories, and towing components. They serve a wide range of industries, including commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets. Founded in 1960 by Leonard Dexter, the company has earned a reputation as a progressive industry leader, producing high-quality products in the U.S. and Canada using state-of-the-art robotics, precision welding, and automated machining processes.
With more than 30 warehouses nationwide and thousands of trailer parts in stock, Dexter offers extensive distribution capabilities. The company is owned by DexKo Global, formed in 2015 through the combination of Dexter and AL-KO Vehicle Technology. Together, they have become a global leader in highly engineered trailer running gear components and systems, backed by over 130 years of combined industry experience. DexKo Global is headquartered in Novi, Michigan, where a strategic leadership team focuses on leveraging the strengths of its combined companies.
Because the shoot took place in Albion, Texas, just outside of Dallas, it required significant coordination and teamwork. To ensure our camera equipment arrived safely and on time, we worked closely with the local team and plant manager. Once onsite, we set up in two separate locations to capture both tabletop and large-scale product photography.
Over the course of four days, we completed nearly 200 images for Dexter’s online shop, enhancing their ability to showcase products clearly and streamline the purchasing experience for customers worldwide. Overall, it was a rewarding project, and every challenge was efficiently navigated thanks to the collaboration and support of an exceptional team across the country.
