Portrait photography is a significant portion of the work we do at Studio Thirteen. We are thrilled to announce and welcome our new client, Marsh and Mercer, to the Studio Thirteen family.

Marsh Risk is a global brand that recently simplified its name to Marsh and encompasses Mercer, Oliver Wyman, and Guy Carpenter. This collaboration among four businesses helps simplify their clients’ experiences by providing access to a comprehensive range of services, including insights on talent, rewards, health, benefits, retirement, and investment solutions. Marsh is the world’s leading insurance broker and risk advisor, offering expert advice, insights, and support to help clients manage risk while achieving global success. Mercer is a global leader in helping clients realize their investment objectives, shape the future of work, and enhance health and retirement outcomes for employees. Guy Carpenter is a leader in global risk advisory and reinsurance brokerage, while Oliver Wyman is a management consulting firm that combines deep industry knowledge with specialized expertise. Together, these organizations are committed to creating an inclusive and dynamic culture where colleagues can perform at their best.

They also empower their colleagues with the knowledge and resources needed to foster a culture of continuous development—unlocking the full potential of their most valuable asset: their people. Through the combined strength of Marsh, Mercer, Guy Carpenter, and Oliver Wyman, organizations are empowered to do more for their people, their businesses, and their broader communities.

For this project, our role was to update employee headshots using an environmental background. Despite conducting a location scout, we couldn’t control the weather, and heavy fog obstructed the view from the windows on the 43rd floor of Salesforce Tower. Rather than letting this setback slow us down, we adapted—because flexibility is at the core of how Studio Thirteen works. After discussing the issue with our client, we secured a second location that proved to be just as stunning. At the new space, the fog was no longer an issue, and the lighting ultimately enhanced the portraits, allowing each subject to stand out even more.
