Architectural photography bridges the gap between design and visual storytelling, capturing the essence of a space in both its form and function. Whether it’s the clean lines of a modern façade or the ambient light dancing through an interior room, architectural photography demands an eye for detail, composition, and atmosphere. Interior and exterior architectural photography not only documents structures, but also reveals the personality of a space — inviting viewers to experience architecture in a new, immersive way. It’s easy to see why this genre has become not only the backbone of our business, but one of our favorite areas to capture.
One of our recent interior/exterior projects came courtesy of our friends at Champlin Architecture. Working with longtime clients is one of the most rewarding aspects of any creative profession. We love the team at Champlin for many reasons. One being that they pride themselves on first and foremost providing creative solutions for their own clients and serving as a an early decision maker to anticipate needs and future challenges. It’s more than selling their buildings and designs, it’s providing a true partnership to those they work with. We admire this philosophy, as it’s quite similar to our own way of operating at Studio 13.
This shoot took us to Pendleton, Indiana, where we captured the interior and exterior of the beautiful new Community Health Network building. When working with an open medical building, it is necessary (for HIPPA reasons) that we do our work prior to patient appointments and office hours. We worked carefully with all involved to find a date that worked well for the client, contractor, ribbon cutting and other site plans. The day we all agreed on ended up being the most gorgeous day serving as the perfect backdrop to our shoot.
Between early morning and late afternoon exteriors, we worked throughout the entire building and captured around 40 unique angles both with and without human subjects. An extremely successful project that we are so proud of.
Thank you to team Champlin for another great experience working together!
